Joanna Chapman-Smith BONUS!! Mat Martin too!!
Hi Fredheads!
I’ve just been notified that Joanna is going to be accompanied on Thursday by Mat Martin, who has accompanied “Live” and on record such luminaries as Boo Hewerdine, (“The Patience of Angles”) and Kirsty McGhee. Mat is joining Joanna on selected dates for this tour and Grateful Fred’s is one of them.
You can read more about Mat on his website but it’s going to be a great night.
I’ve been listening to Joanna’s previous album, “Eyre Corvidae” especially a song called “Moment Of Green“. She has an absolutely beautiful voice. I’m certain you will love her.
See you then!
Colin
Amy Wadge – Cancelled
Sadly we were notified yesterday that Amy Wadge and Pete Riley will not now be appearing on June 2nd.
We are currently refunding purchasers of tickets for that date via our “We Got Tickets” system and we apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience.
We are currently seeking a replacement artiste for the 2nd of June which we hope to be able to announce as soon as possible.
Liverpool Acoustic…
We received a kind mention from Graham at the excellent Liverpool Acoustic website in their latest Newsletter:
“BETTER FRED THAN DEAD – Grateful Fred’s Roots and Acoustic Night is back at the Freshfields Hotel on Thursday 12th May featuring Joanna Chapman-Smith all the way from Canada and winner of the Independent Music Award 2009 in the Best Song Category. Q Magazine gave her five stars and described a “slinky voiced with a hint of East European klezmer music”. Tickets are £6.50 from gratefulfred.co.uk”
Graham does such a fantastic job in promoting acoustic music in Liverpool and the monthly Liverpool Acoustic Nights feature great Liverpool and North West acoustic talent. I really recommend that you visit the Liverpool Acoustic website and sign up for their newsletter to stay up-to-date on some of the best acoustic music around.
